what faith can do.

i woke up this morning to the coverage of of the mine rescue operation going on in chile and was totally rocked to the core seeing the power of God working through these men.

like many americans a couple of months ago i heard the news about these 33 men trapped below the earth and my heart broke for them, for their families, but also like many americans i forgot. i forgot about these men and what they were going through.

but God did not forget.

God was there.

He was with these men.

as the men emerged from the ground they praised Him. they rejoiced. they kept the faith. they believed.

and by no accident this song came on the radio at work today.. and yet again i was rocked to the core.

Everybody falls sometimes
Gotta find the strength to rise
From the ashes and make a new beginning
Anyone can feel the ache
You think its more than you can take
But you are stronger, stronger than you know
Don't you give up now
The sun will soon be shining
You gotta face the clouds
To find the silver lining

I've seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn't ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I've seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That's what faith can do

It doesn't matter what you've heard
Impossible is not a word
It's just a reason for someone not to try
Everybody's scared to death
When they decide to take that step
Out on the water
It'll be alright
Life is so much more
Than what your eyes are seeing
You will find your way
If you keep believing

I've seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn't ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I've seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That's what faith can do

Overcome the odds
You don't have a chance
(That's what faith can do)
When the world says you can't
It'll tell you that you can!

I've seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn't ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I've seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That's what faith can do
That's what faith
can do!
Even if you fall sometimes
You will have the strength to rise

I was with God and I was with the Devil, they fought me, but God won. He took me by my best hand, the hand of God and I held on to him I never thought for one minute that God wouldn't get me out of there.

be the change.

over the past couple of weeks my church has begun on a journey of discovering and learning more about the Holy Spirit. this past week at our small group of all girls we began to discuss how to adequately communicate with the Holy Spirit, we all kind of revealed that we were slightly scared to hear what He would tell us to do or where He would tell us to go.

i think that is where christians miss the mark, fear sets in and we sell ourselves short of what God intended for us.

so today i am hoping you will be inspired by some people and some blogs that are changing the world by living a set-apart life right here is the states. they are changing the lives of children and people thousands of miles away.

stray dog designs : based out of chattanooga tennessee this highly successful home design company makes fun and whimsical decor out of recycled material, but more importantly than any cute litte lamp that they create, they help give jobs to the people of haiti and mexico.

147 million orphans
: i have talked about this organization before, i am truly inspired by theses women from brentwood tennessee who have made their life mission to help the orphans of this world. when you buy one of their awesome t-shirts you are helping feed a child for a week. they have just released their fall 2010 designs and let me tell you, they are the softest shirts EVER not too mention you will be giving their company great publicity to help orphans every where in the world. read their blogs here.

orphaned no more: this is the story of one families journey to bring their adoptive child home. they are trying to sell 3,000 bracelets to make the adoption payments so they can bring isabella home. it is a beautiful story and a moving campaign for sweet isabella. the bracelets are super cute too.

"...once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act."
proverbs 24:12

“every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which He has given you.”deuteronomy 16:17

these are just a few of many wonderful people "being the change they wish to see in the world"

i hope you are inspired by the Holy Spirit today, that is my prayer for you.
