this saturday is pumpkinfest in downtown franklin and i COULD NOT be more excited.

i already love little kids that come in the store, but little kids dressed up like little chickens or cowboys is going to be pretty much the best day at work EVER.

rockin' my world.

a few weeks ago our house church leader gave us all a cd of some of her favorite worship music. there was one song on the mix that i just put on repeat over and over and over. and i tried searching for a week a couple of words of the lyrics to find out who sang this song (yes, i said week, i couldnt remember enough of the lyrics) and FINALLY i found who sang it and my world changed..

ladies, and lets be real, ladies.. meredith andrews.

i immediately went and bought her new cd on itunes for my weekend trip to atlanta. i love spending time driving alone and especially when i have new music to listen to.

by the time i was on my way back home today i had learned almost all the words of the cd and i just couldn't get enough of every song. each one has a different message yet applies to my life and love for our Lord. i found myself in tears of joy driving down monteagle mountain singing my heart out. people probably thought i was a mad woman. oh well.

after a little bit of research i found out meredith is not only a songwriter/singer but she is also a worship leader in the chicago area and you better believe if i am ever in the area i am heading to that church.

i love all of the songs of this cd, but especially " come home" which she wrote for her brother and "what it means to love" which she wrote after meeting an HIV positive boy in haiti. its good stuff.

this is the song i had on repeat for a good week. please go check out her music. it will rock your world, just like its rockin' mine.

ruffles.

what can i say, i love ruffles. add a ruffle to ANYTHING, well almost anything, and instantly i fall in love.

we carry a line at the store that is nothing but ruffles.. india rose.

drool with me..

on a daily basis i hear phrases like these,

"do you think this ruffle is too big?"

"i think it needs a little bit more ruffles."

"how cute would this be with ruffles?"

"lets add a ruffle pillow!"

and its phrases and moments like those that i realize how much i love my job.

boots.

i have been looking for a good pair of boots for years. literally.

don't get me wrong, i love my cowboy boots but i need something a little bit more diverse. and every time i shop for boots i get super intimidated by the price tag and flake out. every season.

what faith can do.

i woke up this morning to the coverage of of the mine rescue operation going on in chile and was totally rocked to the core seeing the power of God working through these men.

like many americans a couple of months ago i heard the news about these 33 men trapped below the earth and my heart broke for them, for their families, but also like many americans i forgot. i forgot about these men and what they were going through.

but God did not forget.

God was there.

He was with these men.

as the men emerged from the ground they praised Him. they rejoiced. they kept the faith. they believed.

and by no accident this song came on the radio at work today.. and yet again i was rocked to the core.

the awesome thing about my job is that i get to do a lot of fun research.. like looking at blogs. i am always looking for great inspiration or ideas for different projects and i came across this blog a few weeks ago and i am in love.

did you know a chicken lays one egg every day?

well i had an idea. to create artwork and designs that bring joy to the viewers heart.. every day.

i am still working on what i am going to create exactly and honestly it will probably be a long journey but here is a sneak peak of my new business venture..

cath does it again.

my cath kidston catalog came in the mail this week, all the way from across the big pond and let me tell you.. cath has done it again.. melted this southern girls heart.
